Ride South Africa
South Africa has a wonderful variety of riding options from a really good riding holiday where you can enjoy lessons and have a go at polocrosse to exciting big game safaris with fast riding. The majority of South Africa’s game reserves are fenced and riding safaris take place on private reserves, where accommodation is usually in private lodges and camps. Some of the lodges are very luxurious, many are suited to families with young children.
South Africa has something for every type of rider and so that we may recommend exactly the right riding holiday for you we encourage you to call us and chat about the various different offerings.
When To Go South Africa is a year-round riding destination. The hottest months are November to March, and the coolest April to October. Some of the rides do not run at the hottest times of the year because this can be uncomfortable for both horse and rider.
Getting There South Africa’s main international airports are in Johannesburg and Cape Town. There are frequent daily flights from the UK to both cities on British Airways, South African Airways and Virgin. Flying time is approximately eleven hours and most flights are overnight and there is really no jet-lag with just one to two hours of time difference between the UK and South Africa.
