Ride Namibia

Namibia, one of the largest countries in Africa, has varied landscapes, magnificent scenery and fauna. The horse rides offered in this wonderful country are exciting and exhilarating. The horses you will ride in Namibia are fit, sure-footed, have great stamina and are well-adapted to the harsh desert environment.

In Namibia we offer some of the toughest trail rides in the world. They are not to be tackled lightly and you will need to be riding fit. That said, there are also some rides for the less experienced rider too to the Desert Homestead.

The expedition-style rides in Namibia are longer than the average riding 'holiday' and can last for up to 12 days, spending from 6 to 10 hours in the saddle each day.

When To Go
There is no bad time to visit Namibia, though depending on what you wish to see, there are certain months that are better than others. For game viewing the dry season months of May to October are best. Daytime temperatures during this period range from 20 - 30°C, with chilly mornings and evenings. The rainy season is from November to March, which is also when the temperatures are at their highest, sometimes reaching as high as 45°C in the far north and south of the country. Birdwatching is best after the rains when numerous flooded depressions attract migrant species.

July to December are by far the busiest months for tourism and if you are planning to visit during this time - it is imperative that flights and accommodation are booked as far in advance as possible.
