Borana Lodge - Liakipia, Kenya Riding Safaris with Ride AfricaExclusive Borana Lodge is perched on the edge of a valley meandering out of the Laikipia Plateau. Blending into the craggy stone outcrops of the escarpment, the lodge has 6 cottages clustered around a main building and a peaceful infinity pool that overlooks a waterhole where animals come to drink. The holiday cottages have open fireplaces, en-suite bathrooms with showers and baths, dressing rooms and private verandas. Cedar and leather furniture and hand painted fabrics enhance the rustic yet sophisticated interiors whilst delicious home cooking ranges from the traditional to the exotic.

Riding and Activities
There are 22 stables at Borana, as well as more at Ngare Ndare and Kisima. The horses are anything up to 15.3 hands high and the weight limit is fourteen stone. They are all schooled on the flat, over cross country fences and show jumps and some are polo ponies. Beginners can ride from the lodge however for riding safaris riders must be riding fit and agile. Children can also be accommodated.

Borana Lodge - Borana Lodge is an eight bedroom lodge set on the edge of the Samangua Valley with panoramic views of Mount Kenya, the Borana plains and the Ngare Ndare Forest.

Laragai House - Laragai House is the private home of the Cecil family, and is available for rent when they are not in residence. Laragai is a house of spectacular beauty and can sleep ten guests in extreme comfort.

Il N'gwesi - This Community Lodge won the 1999 British Airways Tourism for Tomorrow award. It now supports 400 Maasai families and a school.

Day 1
On arrival into Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta International airport at 06h00 off your international flight, you will be met by your private chauffeur and transferred to Wilson  airport in time for your Safari Link light aircraft departing at 10h20 to Lewa.

On arrival into Lewa at 11h25 you will be met by your guide and transferred to Borana Ranch, to begin your six night riding safari.

You will take an evening ride on the horses. Overnight Borana Lodge.

Day 2
Explore Borana on horses, picnic breakfast and ride back to the lodge. Walk or relax in the evening. Overnight Borana Lodge.

Day 3
Leave Borana on the horses in the afternoon and ride into the Mukogodo Forest. Culture in the forest, before overnight at a fly camp.

Day 4
After a delicious camp breakfast you will depart for Tassia Lodge, you will arrive in time for late lunch and will spend the afternoon swimming, relaxing or walking. Overnight Tassia Lodge.

Day 5
Breakfast and then ride out from Tassia down the dry river beds and into the Ngare Ndare river. Fun riding day. Return to Tassia for a relaxing evening. Overnight Tassia Lodge.

Day 6
Early breakfast before riding up the Ngare Ndare river, ride up the escarpment and onto Borana with picnic lunch en route. Longs days riding with overnight in a fly camp.

Day 7
Breakfast in camp and then ride up to the lodge from the river. Lunch at Borana. Evening game drive. Overnight Borana.

Day 8
This morning you will be transferred back to Lewa and will catch your Safari Link light aircraft flight to Nairobi domestic airport.

On arrival into Nairobi you will be met and transferred to your next destination (either homeward bound, or to the beach!)
